What does the venue hire include?
- Hire of the venue on your chosen day, for the times outlined in your contract
- The full operational support from our event team and our event planners to co-ordinate and deliver your event on the day

How long is the venue hire period?
Venue hire is for 9 hours is usually from 15:00 till midnight. If you would like to finish later than midnight the cost is £1,000 per additional hour (+VAT) and with a limited number of late licenses available per year.
How do I confirm my wedding at Dorney Court?
If you would like to go ahead with a booking at Dorney Court please ask for our booking request form. From this a contract will be drawn up and it’s only on receipt of this signed contract and paid deposit invoices that your booking is then secure.
Is there a cancellation charge?
Cancellation charges are payable for cancellation of any event or part event which has been confirmed by the client. Please refer to your ‘Event Contract’ for a clear breakdown of costs and non-refundable payment stages.
Is it possible to have our wedding ceremony at Dorney Court?
It is possible to have a church ceremony or civil ceremony at Dorney Court. St James-the-Less Church is located on the Dorney Estate and can accommodate up to 100 guests. Civil ceremonies can take place in the House for up to 55 guests and the Coach House Barn for up to 120 guests.
How do I book St James Church the Less and what does it cost?
Arrangements need to be made directly with the local parish as it is run by the Church of England, independently from the Dorney Court Estate. There is a required fee for marrying in a church. The fee is set by the Church of England nationally although it may vary depending on your circumstances. Please visit http://www.yourchurchwedding.org/default.aspx for further information.
Does the church have church bells and an organ?
There are six bells which can be rung after your wedding ceremony takes place. Please liaise with the church to discuss these arrangements and costs.
Can I use confetti at Dorney Court?
We only allow natural petal confetti and it can only be used outside (e.g. http://confettidirect.co.uk). A fine will be issued for anyone not using natural confetti.
Can we bring our own drinks to Dorney Court?
Yes, supplying your own drinks is possible, we charge a drinks service charge per person for the full day, which includes removal of bottles at the end of the event.
What is the minimum spend on the cash bar?
There is no minimum spend on the cash bar unless the Pineapple package is booked where a £750 minimum spend is applicable.
Can we hold a drinks reception on the lawns of Dorney Court?
Yes, the North Lawns are included as part of your venue hire for the House and the Coach House Barn.
Can we have photographs taken in the House?
The House can be hired for the bride, groom and close family members to have photos taken (subject to availability). There is a supplement of £250 (+ VAT) for up to 1.5 hours. The House can be hired for receptions and is charged at £1,000 (+VAT), for the first 2 hours, plus £500 (+VAT) for every additional hour thereafter. It is not possible to hire the House on bank holidays and in August until after 17:30.
Can we use our own photographer, florist, DJ or band?
We have a recommended supplier list. These suppliers know the venue well and how best to operate on site. This should help you select the best suppliers for your event. We do also allow some external suppliers at Dorney Court. All external suppliers that are not on our recommended list must read and sign our supplier handbook and issue Absolute Taste with relevant risk assessments, PAT certificates and public liability insurance for approval.
Do we need to hire a dance floor
Yes, the floor in the barn must be protected and therefore a dance floor is require if you wish to dance in the barn. Dance floor prices start from £295 (+VAT) for a 15×15 wooden dance floor. Dancing is not permitted in the House.
Are there any restrictions regarding decorations?
Dorney Court is a Grade 1 listed building therefore nothing can be fixed to any surface, either internally or externally. Everything must be freestanding. Freestanding branding or stands are acceptable within the hired areas. If you would like to use the Dorney Court or Absolute Taste logo please let us know for approval.
Can we use our own electrical equipment in the venue?
All electrical equipment must be provided by an approved suppliers and carry suitable PAT test certificates, unless agreed and approved by Absolute Taste prior to your event.
Do you provide a projector or screen?
Is there car parking at Dorney Court?
We have ample free parking on site which is available for you and your guests to use during your event. We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles left in our car park.
Will there be directional signage for guests?
Yes, there will be signage in place on the day of your event to direct guests to the correct areas. If you would like to display further signs, balloons or streamers en route to the venue, please feel free to do so but ensure your event planner is made aware of your plans. Additional signage must be taken down at the end of your hire period and it is the responsibility of your party to do so unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed with your event planner.
Is there access for disabled guests?
We will work with you to ensure that guests with special requirements are looked after at Dorney Court. Please contact Absolute Taste to discuss individual needs including parking and ramps. The Coach House Barn has disabled toilet facilities on the ground floor.
Is security included?
Security personnel are required and will be added to the venue hire in your quote.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, Dorney Court has a two-bedroom self-catered cottage on site. Gale Cottage is a beautiful contemporary conversion of Dorney Court’s former stables. The pretty gabled cottage sleeps 4 people in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin room and has a living room and a spacious kitchen. Check in is from 12:00 noon on the day of arrival and check out is at 10:00am on the day of departure.
Can we deliver or set up the day before an event?
We will discuss deliveries with you during the course of the planning stage. As a rule, we can only receive deliveries on the day of your event and within a pre-arranged time frame.
Can we arrange to leave items in the venue overnight?
Everything must be collected immediately at the end of your event day unless a strike day has been agreed. Dorney Court cannot except any responsibility for items left at the venue.
Can we have candles?
Candles and naked flames are permitted at Dorney Court but must be encased in glass holders. We also recommend battery operated candles which are a great alternative.
Can we have sky lanterns?
No unfortunately lanterns are not permitted at Dorney Court, due to the livestock in the area
Can we have fireworks?
Yes, you can have fireworks at Dorney Court. These must be provided by one of our accredited suppliers and finish by 22:30.
Can we have sparklers?
Yes, sparklers are allowed at Dorney Court. Every effort must be made by you the client to collect the remains and debris.
Can you provide an easel to hold our table plan?
Yes, there will be an easel and board available for clients to use.
Do you have any partnerships with local hotels?
Yes, please ask your planner for more details.
What are the options if our guest numbers are over 120 people?
For more than 120 people, we suggest hiring either an extension marquee on the Coach House Barn or a marquee large enough for a reception and dining on the Parklands.
How do I get a marquee quote?
Can I hire Dorney Court for an event for only a couple of hours?
Yes, Dorney Court offers flexible venue hire options. You can choose from day hire, evening hire or hire of a particular venue for the entire day. Please contact us to request venue hire rates.
Can the House still be hired throughout August and the May Bank Holidays, when it is open to the public?
Yes, it can be hired for private hire before 13:00 and after 17:30 when the House is closed to the public.
When the house is not available for private hire in August and bank holidays, what is the best wet weather contingency plan for a drinks reception?
